Courage through Jesus Chirst Our Lord and God
The Bible states important principles about Christians and courage. It commands us to be of good courage and to be strong. It also makes clear that our strength lies in the confidence that comes from God's presence with us. Although the world recognizes the relationship between strength and courage, it ignores God, the source of our strength. The Psalmist says, "Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strenthen thine heart:wait,I say,on the Lord" (Psalms 27:14).

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” Without God we can do nothing but, with God ALL things are possible.

willdo, did you BLOCK me?…
February 20, 2013If so, can you kindly explain why?

Thank you both for those scriptures reminders. The key is trust God if you dont understand and know he will direct our paths. Sometimes it does get rough, but we can do all things not somethings
February 20, 2013willdo
God has never promised us smooth sailing through life, He merely promised that He’d be there in the midst of the storm. “And lo’ I am with you always, even unto the end of the earth”.
February 20, 2013adjewleu
That is speaking in the name of God – and how do you know what God said, really?
February 20, 2013adjewleu
I’m very suspicious of characters who arrive here speaking in the name of God – what I call “INDIRECT couriers”.
February 20, 2013willdo, are you one of them?
And if you imagine you are, why would you BLOCK me from your articles?!…
What wrong did I do to you in particular?
willdo
You are not of God. You have nothing credible to add and your remarks have been nasty and hateful towards my blog. You may THINK that you have a “right” to say whatever nasty, hateful thing are on your mind but, you are NOT using my blog to spew your venomous outbursts. You may call me whatever you wish but, your opinion means nothing to me. I worship God not human beings.
February 20, 2013adjewleu
You are insincere, willdo.
February 20, 2013What “nasty and hateful” things?…
Don’t you say horrible things about folk who never did you any wrong?
Like calling them “LOST”, “children of the Devil” and more?
Acts 13:10.
…
Are you a kind person?
willdo
I am “kind” BUT, I am NOT a doormat for those who don’t believe. I’m not here to “prove” God’s existence either. Those who cannot “see” God EVERYWHERE are completely blind and have chosen not to see Him. Those who use scripture to justify their unbelief or who lie about what scripture says are a waste of time in my opinion.
February 20, 2013adjewleu
Calling me “a waste of time” is rude and unchristian.
February 20, 2013How do you know I’m not testing your christian character?
adjewleu
Calling me “not of God” is insulting and demeaning!
February 20, 2013What God?
YOUR god?
I see you need to turn into a peacemaker; not a belligerent believer.

I don’t own God so no, it wouldn’t be “my god” it would be THE GOD ALMIGHTY, the ONLY God there is. The ONLY God there has EVER been. Sounds to me like YOU need to read up a little more on scripture before you show your ignorance any more. At least now it is obvious to everyone why I blocked you.

“… it is obvious to everyone why I blocked you …”
February 21, 2013.
No, it isn’t, wil.
Ginger will call you a “lesser-Christian” for blocking folk who never did a wrong to you – except disagreeing on matters of your fanaticism.
But by BLOCKING ME you reveal that you are a fanatic.

Are you the type that would not call the firemen to put down the fire in your atheist neighbour’s house?

BAD FRUIT fanatic, I’m afraid, wil.

Don’t really care what YOU call me. You ain’t going to be there judging me when the trumpet sounds so, your opinion is worthless. Yes, it IS OBVIOUS why I blocked you. I block anyone who attempts to use MY blog as their own personal hatred volcano. I keep my blog truthful and clean. If you don’t like it, then don’t visit.

Citing king David as a symbol of faith is proof of few good brain cells.
February 20, 20131 Chronicles 21:5 discloses that his strength was an army of one and a half MILLION conscripts – bigger than America’s!!
All those, plus Yahweh’s help to defend a small tribal land!!!

I do NOT appreciate David.

I really do not understand the dependence on strength from somewhere outside one’s self? It seems moderately childlike and a little crazy. What ever happened to being a functional adult, capable of handling life and being brave for the sake of yourself and family…?
Since we are all “god’s children,” I suppose that it’s appropriate to continue feeding off christianity’s teet, rather than growing up to be a functional adult…. with no delusions of an imaginary parent/god figure to look up to, so that you know that you can’t steal things or kill other people, right? Makes so much sense…
I don’t kill people because I feel that A: I am not capable of being an absolute judge as to when another persons life should end, and B: Fear of eye for an eye mentality -I myself would like to continue my pitiful earthly life for awhile longer. C: it’s just wrong, and I don’t need to be told not to do it to know that it’s wrong. I don’t steal for the same line of reasoning. If I didn’t earn it, it’s not mine. etc.
One one hand, I guess I should be thankful for religion, since it tells people how to be decent human beings. (nevermind the fact that so many wars have religious undertones) If there was no religion, humanity would have died out a long time ago for being the selfish animals we all are inside…. right? For being a religion of peace, goodwill toward man, all that feel good crap… they sure can be a whiny and hateful bunch.

That’s good. And You seem like a good person with some morals but being a good person isn’t enough. You have to believe on the Lord and accept Him as your savior so you can be saved.
March 23, 2013Ithinknot
I don’t need an imaginary friend to save me however. So, I guess in your mind, I’m just going to hell for eternity after my earthly life ends. I’m just fine as I am, and do not need saving from anything…
Really, if you think about it, if something terrible were to happen to me, it’d be god’s will anyway. Shame on him for throwing a tantrum at me for a simple thing such as lack of faith. That is very childish, demanding, and spiteful. Also, in your mind, he’d have some fault in wiring my brain the way he did, since it is clearly not aligned to the institute of religion.
March 24, 2013nickstane
adjewleu, if your going to quote scripture, how about we get the context right. in acts 13:10, when saul, who is called paul, is calling them children of the devil and lost, hes talking about two men who are being false prophets and spreading the gospel wrong. in fact, ill post what it says and break it down for you.
“So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they had John to assist them. When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they came upon a certain magician, a Jewish false prophet named Bar-Jesus. He was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence, who summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. But Elymas the magician (for that is the meaning of his name) opposed them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. But Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said, “You son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and villainy, will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord?
(Acts 13:4-10 ESV) "
so first, they are sent out to the holy spirit, skip down to where they meet bar-jesus. obviously, it says that he was a man of intellegence, as are you. and so they see that he is taking scripture and twisting it to his own devices, instead of actually considering the context of the words and using said context correctly. this is the reason that he was called a son of the devil, an enemy of all righteousness, and a villian. because he was just using the scripture to make himself look good. so i’m telling you what they told him all those years ago. will you not stop using the words of the lord to your own devices, because as long as you do, your heart will be hardened just as pharohs was in exodus with moses, and the worst part about this for you is its not even your choice to do so. it is for the glory of the lord that he makes you feel this way, it is for his sake that he clothes you in mist and blinds your eyes to the truth, and there isnt anything you can do about it. #gospeltruth
February 20, 2013nickstane
ok so adjewleu, if your going to quote scripture, lets get the context down right.
But Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said, “You son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, full of all deceit and villainy, will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord?”
(Acts 13:4-10 ESV)
so saul gets sent to cyprus by the holy spirit. they meet a false prophet, or someone teaching the gospel wrong. so when he is calling this man a son of the devil and an enemy of all righteousness, it is because he is twisting the words of god to satisfy his own means. so when you are “called” an enemy and a son of the devil, you know that in your heart, it is not us applying these labels. but even i do not know if you can be turned. god has apparently placed a veil over your eyes and made your heart hard, like pharoeh in exodus, and god does this for his glory alone.
“But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, Pharaoh will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and bring my hosts, my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment. The Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring out the people of Israel from among them.”
(Exodus 7:3-5 ESV)
it is for his sake that he has made you blind. it is not for you to decide whether you "have god " or not.
“But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel, and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring. For this is what the promise said: “About this time next year I will return, and Sarah shall have a son.” And not only so, but also when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”
February 20, 2013What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God’s part? By no means! For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.
You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory—even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?
(Romans 9:6-24 ESV)

Throwing verses is religious insolence, nick.
Sure a pot of clay has no conscience or free-will.
Therefore, the comparison is stupid.
A potter, yes, can make a nice beautiful pot to put on the table, like he can make a pot to serve as toilet, who cares!
God made some of us to be toilets?!…
.
..
…
Religion damages brain cells.
nickstane
first off, you need to label your verses, so that everyone can follow luckily i know where your reading from. as for your toilet comment, it says in Romans 9:6-18 " for not all who are descended form Israel belong to Israel, and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but ‘through Isaac shall your offspring be named.’ this means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of god, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring. for this is what the promise said: ‘about this time next year i will return, and Sarah shall have a son.’ and not only so, but also when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, though they were not yet born and had done – nothing either good or bad – in order that god’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls – she as told, ’ the older will serve the younger.’ as it is written, ‘Jacob i loved, but Esau i hated.’ what shall we say then? is there injustice on god’s part? by no means! for he says to Moses, ’ i will have mercy on whom i have mercy, and i will have compassion on whom i have compassion.’ so then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on god who has mercy. for the scripture says to pharaoh, ’ for this very purpose, i have raised you up, that i might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.’ so then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills." basically, it is for god’s glory alone that we are made the way we are, and it is for god’s glory alone that we were created. the sovereignty of god baby. its a beautiful thing..
p.s. with the scripture i just put, it puts your scripture into context to support my scripture. context is key #dropthemikeandwalkaway

The story about Elymas is a fraud.
February 21, 2013The Bible is generally a fraudulent text, too.
It never gives the opposition space/opportunity to declare its side.
Where do we hear Elymas explain anything from his side?
Not like that in modern times!
.
Obviously, Paul was a VIOLENT character, a bloody fanatic.
That is my opinion about the guy – based on what is written.
Now, you appear here to defend a VIOLENT fanatic, which dangerously can turn you also into the same dysfunction, nick.
Are you a dysfunctional fanatic, nick?
Do you need Paul in your life?
I don’t!

Lol, the Bible may be a “fraud” to YOU, in YOUR opinion, to YOUR way of thinking, but, it’s actually truth. That’s why the atheists fight against it so, they don’t want the truth getting out.
